Marijuana is safer than aspirin

Marijuana is safer than aspirin

Dr. Leslie Liversen of Oxford‘s Department of Pharmacology states: Marijuana is safer than aspirin and can be taken for longer without serious side effects. This and other interesting things can be learned from the book “The Science of Marijuana” where he debunks many myths about marijuana, which are not compatible with research, such as strong addiction, a link to mental illness or infertility.

How is marijuana safer than aspirin?

Their studies showed that the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), has great potential and can serve as a safe and effective drug for treating severe pain or AIDS. It is believed to be a safe drug, the use of which does not lead to cancer, brain damage or mental illness. “Marijuana does not cause structural damage to the brain; there is no evidence of long-term cognitive damage after stopping the drug,” says Leslie Iversen. The author also confirms that no one has ever died from an overdose from marijuana and that it has been used for thousands of years. For this reason alone it can be said that marijuana is safer than aspirin, which can be fatal for some allergy sufferers.

Even seemingly harmless medications like aspirin and its anti-inflammatory compounds are unsafe. “Thousands of people die every year due to the tendency to cause stomach bleeding.” THC also has 20 times the anti-inflammatory potential of aspirin and 2 times the potency of hydrocortisone. Many studies support the safety and effectiveness of marijuana for medical purposes. The time has come to stop denying marijuana and allow its use for medical purposes.

In the book The Science of Marijuana, Leslie Iversen explains the remarkable progress that has been made in scientific research on cannabis with the discovery of specific receptors and the existence of cannabis-like substances naturally present in the brain. Dr. Iversen provides an objective and up-to-date assessment of the scientific basis for the medical use of cannabis and the risks this may cause. The recreational use of the drug and how it affects users is described along with some predictions about how attitudes towards cannabis may change in the future.

Karyn Wagner creates an aphrodisiac strain: Sexxpot

Karyn Wagner spent a long time producing an aphrodisiac strain that would help increase every woman’s orgasmic experience. Known as Sexxpot, this cannabis was bred exclusively for its benefits of increased sexual pleasure in women.

What is Sexxpot?

The lady who developed this special strain of cannabis, Karyn Wagner, began her journey to discovered by Sexxpot when he had an amazing night of sex. As she tells the story, she and her partner had just taken a couple of hits and decided to make love. And it turned out to be some of the best sex she’d ever had. A light bulb went off in his head when he realized that he could get such an amazing sexual experience from this herb.

Then God knows how amazing it would be if he found a way to develop one plant only for his pleasure. It turned out to be a strain known as Mr. Nice’s Critical – known for its aphrodisiac qualities. And so she went ahead to create a strain suited to her sexual needs. He was going to separate the sexually stimulating parts of Mr. Nice and then refine them to create an effect more intense on her. Because Sexxpot improves orgasm and she succeeded. Its fruit, the Sexxpot, has a lot of new qualities in addition to those of its parent plant – Mr. Nice.

Taking Sexxpot helps enhance your senses and makes you more receptive to sexual activity. And this is a result of the THC levels in this aphrodisiac strain named Sexxpot.

Properties and characteristics of Sexxpot

Now, you might think that aphrodisiac strain Sexxpot‘s THC levels must be super high in order to provide such an amazing sexual experience. But strangely the answer is No! In fact, it has a very low THC content compared to the varieties on the market, with only 14% THC compared to the usual content of 18 – 20%.

So you might be wondering why you would lower the THC levels of a strain to create sexually potent cannabis. To all this, I say that: low THC levels increase sexual activity because a small dose of THC is enough to increase the senses and yet leaves room for its correct functioning. And so whatever you do in a calm, relaxed and uninhibited mind would be done well. And this is what Sexxpot does; it puts you in the best possible mindset to have good sex. It doesn’t leave you stuck and unable to function effectively. And that’s what makes this strain perfect for sex. The science of Sexxpot the Cannabis strain that was created to enhance female orgasm is only obtainable in the Bay Area. It is developed from its mother plant – Mr. Nice. And consequently, it is an aphrodisiac. This means that it is powerful enough to get you excited about having sex. But at the same time, it has been carefully designed so that it doesn’t inhibit your ability.

You will find that Sexxpot  has a strong skunky smell. When you smoke, it leaves a sour taste in your mouth. And before you know it, you start to feel a slight increase in sensitivity. And this is when you have sex with your partner.

How to get the Sexxpot?

Regarding its availability, Sexxpot can only be obtained in California. You might have this on hand if you happen to live in the Bay Area. And that type of service is made possible by a partnership between Wagner’s company and another cannabis company known as Lady Chatterley. Then all you have to do is contact Lady Chatterley to get Sexxpot.

This is a good collaboration as Lady Chatterley also focuses on female smokers. The partnership makes sense, especially since Lady Chatterley is aimed primarily at women who smoke. If you live in the Bay Area, you can contact Lady Chatterley directly. And then for those who don’t live in the Bay Area or California you might have a hard time finding Sexxpot.

The British Medical Journal declares: legalize drugs!

The British Medical Journal declares: legalize drugs!

The British Medical Journal declares: legalize drugs!

The war on drugs costs every UK taxpayer around £400 a year. The UK is now the world’s largest exporter of legal cannabis, but recreational and medicinal use is criminalised. Scotland has the highest rate of drug deaths in Europe, double what it was 10 years ago. The global trade in illicit drugs is worth £236 billion, but this money fuels organized crime and human misery. Why shouldn’t it fund public services instead?

This is how this week’s editorial opens by Fiona Godlee, editor of the British Medical Journal, the journal of the British Medical Association and one of the most important medical journals in the world. It is a very important position that follows that of the Royal College of Physicians. In a 2016 report, the latter concluded that the “war on drugs” fails to discourage drug abuse. Instead it discourages people with problematic use from seeking treatment and inhibits harm reduction efforts.

Prohibition and violence

In a study by Jason Reed and Paul Whitehouse (doi: 10.1136 / bmj.k1999) English public policies are analysed, in particular those concerning the escalation of violence in the United Kingdom. Well, the Home Office published a report that found no correlation between the harshness of the law and recreational drug use.

Despite the full awareness that drug laws have no real impact on use, the recent government strategy to approach the problem of violence includes substantial investments in the police, and puts repressive policies in the foreground. But according to the authors, prohibition itself causes disharmony and violence, as the new government strategy recognizes: “conflicts in illicit drug markets cannot be resolved through legal channels, so participants can resolve them violently.”

According to Reed and Whitehouse, to reduce violence from the illegal drug trade the British government should replace its repressive approach with legal regulation and support.

Benefits of regulating the sale of cannabis

In the United Kingdom, huge sums are already being spent trying, without success, to interrupt the flow of drugs in cities which often involves vulnerable children, used for the most dangerous passages. Godlee highlights how “in Portugal, where non-violent drug possession has been decriminalised, consumption has not increased, drug-related deaths have decreased considerably”. While countries that have regulated the sale of cannabis see their tax revenues increase. A drug regulation approach, according to Godlee, could divert money from criminal syndicates’ profits to public spending:

  • In the quality control of substances.
  • In prevention and treatment for problem consumers.
  • In education and protection policies for the most vulnerable children.

For Godlee, it’s not about “thinking drugs are good or bad. This is an evidence-based position entirely in line with a public health approach to violent crime. The Serious Violence strategy recognizes the link between prohibition and violence, but proposes spending £40 million on prohibition-related policies.” The editorial concludes: “The BMJ strongly supports efforts to legalize, regulate and tax the sale of drugs for recreational and medicinal use. This is a topic on which doctors can and should make their voices heard.

The University of Bonn and the Hebrew University: new discoveries on THC

The University of Bonn and the Hebrew University: new discoveries on THC

The University of Bonn and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem: new discoveries on THC

There are many therapeutic effects of medical cannabis, a controversial substance due to its widespread recreational use, but still available in many countries (including ours) for patients with serious neurodegenerative diseases, chronic pain and tumors. And if the list of potential beneficial effects is already interesting, another could be added in the future.

In fact, THC could also prove to be a powerful anti-aging agent. Or rather, improve memory, learning and cognitive faculties in the elderly, protecting the brain from the effects of time. The available clues for now come from mice, but as a study published in Nature Medicine explains, these are important results, which justify experimentation on humans too. THC in older adults could slow brain degeneration.

The study on THC

The research was carried out in the laboratories of the University of Bonn and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He experimented with the effects of cannabis on mice, animals with a rather short life cycle that normally begin to show signs of cognitive decline around 12 months of age.

The researchers administered small doses of THC, the active ingredient in cannabis, to the animals at the ages of 2, 12 and 18 months. And they then tested the rodents’ memory and learning abilities, comparing their results with those of mice that had received a placebo (a solution without the active ingredient).

The results

At both 12 and 18 months of age, the mice that received THC showed cognitive functions comparable to those of young people as young as two months old. While in the control group, the animals that were administered the placebo, cognitive decline began to appear around 12 months of age.

“The treatment – claims study coordinator Andreas Zimmer, from the University of Bonn – completely reversed the normal cognitive decline in elderly animals”. To understand how, the researchers now analyzed the animals’ brain tissue. And they discovered that at the molecular level and the connections between neurons, the brains of 18-month-old mice exposed to THC were much more similar to that of young animals than to that of a normal elderly specimen. “Thc – underlines Zimmer – almost seems to turn back the molecular clock of the brain”.

And in humans?

There are many differences between mice and humans, but researchers are convinced that the effects of cannabis could counteract the effect of brain aging in our species too. If this were the case, it would be an important discovery: cannabis could possess the unique ability to reverse brain aging, making itself a candidate as a therapy to counteract cognitive decline and the onset of dementia in old age.

The ifs, obviously. But the researchers feel ready to move on to the next phase, clinical trials on humans: the doses of THC used are very low, they explain, lower than those needed to induce narcotic effects, and the potential benefits are extremely interesting.
